As of this writing, WELD has been installed and tested on WindowsNT (Intel), Windows98, Solaris (SPARC) and Linux (Intel) using Apache and vqserver with various JVMs.  There is no reason to think that there would be any problems on other platforms.

The UNIX environment is just one of the acceptable hosts, but the components that need to be configured in UNIX are probably similar to those to be found in most other environments.
